Covid Toes

Introduction

 

Covid toe is one of the non respiratory symptoms of COVID-19 infection. Though information is still not clear and sufficient it is postulated that it can be body’s antibody response reaction to the infection. It is a chilblain lesion. They are itchy and painful lesions, appearing to be similar to the lesions usually presented when the feet are exposed to cold. 

 

Symptoms and Treatment

They present as multiple skin lesions on toes, soles and heels. They appear as red rash like boils or pustules. The lesions on the feet have a little crust or small flat red bumps which are itchy and mildly painful on pressing.
Currently, very scare information is available on the treatment. If any of the above symptoms is noticed, a visit to immunologist or dermatologist is advised.
